In Absentia (2020) is a series about trauma and survival. For this work, I build props and construct surreal still life scenes to form a narrative; from a place of safety and power, I process held sense memories using objects as surrogates. The series' visual depictions of trauma suggest a sort of dream logic: nothing is as it should be, and I cannot seem to awake.
